Metal Testing Machines — Steel, Aluminium, Copper & More
Electromechanical and hydraulic universal testing machines for tensile, compression, bending and impact testing of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

Complete Metal Testing Solutions
From aluminium foil to structural steel — tensile, compression, bending and impact testing across the full strength range.
Metals testing covers a wide range of forces, from thin aluminium foils at a few newtons to structural steel at 2,000 kN. Cermac offers the UTM-E (50–600 kN) for medium-duty metals testing and the UTM-H (600–2,000 kN) for heavy-duty structural applications.
Both platforms feature 24-bit digital control, Class 0.5 or Class 1 accuracy and full compliance with ASTM E8 and ISO 6892-1. Combined with the ITM Charpy impact tester (300–750 J), Cermac provides a complete metals characterisation laboratory.
Metals Testing Features
Strain-rate Control
24-bit closed-loop for Method A strain-rate controlled testing per ISO 6892-1.

Frequently Asked Questions
What machine capacity do I need for metals?
Thin sheet: 50–100 kN. Standard bar and plate: 100–600 kN. Structural steel and rebar: 600–2,000 kN.
Can one machine do tensile and compression?
Yes. All Cermac UTMs are universal — switch between tensile, compression and bending by changing the tooling.
What about impact testing?
The ITM Charpy pendulum impact tester (300–750 J) complements the UTM range for complete metals characterisation.
Is high-temperature testing available?
Yes. The UTM-E integrates with electric furnaces up to 1200°C for hot tensile testing per ISO 6892-2.
